| The Pre-Cooling Misting System requires
very little maintenance to keep your air conditioning
system running at top efficiency . However, there are
a few regular maintenance routines which will ensure long
life from both your AC Pre-Cooling System
and your home air conditioner. |

Since the micro-fine mist from
the AC Pre-Cooling system evaporates
almost instantly, there is generally very little calcium,
lime, or rust buildup on the AC unit.
However, good AC unit preventative
maintenance suggests that once a month you spray down
the outside of your AC condenser coils with a product
such as Lime-A-Way? or CLR?
(available in any hardware or home-improvement store)
and rinse it off with clean water. This will remove any
mineral buildup on your AC condenser, and keep your Air
Conditioning System working at top efficiency.
WARNING: Products such as CLR
are extremely caustic, and should be rinsed off the AC
condenser IMMEDIATELY. Failure to do so could result in
serious damage to your AC system. Read and follow all
label directions on any chemicals you use.
This simple routine is a good idea with or without the
AC Pre-Cooling kit attached, as all condensers
can accumulate buildup through normal use. This simple
procedure once a month will help keep your system in tip-top
condition. |

Though unusual, it is possible that one or more of
the Cool-n-Save Misting System Nozzles
can become clogged if there is a high concentration of
minerals in your water.
If you know you live in a hard water area, you may want
to purchase a Polyphosphate
Filter to help filter your water. One filter
will last the entire summer, and should be replaced each
spring.
If your nozzles are not performing properly due to mineral
buildup, simply turn off the water supply to the AC
Pre-Cooling System and remove the clogged misting
nozzles. Soak the nozzles in a product such as Lime-A-Way
or CLR for about 5 minutes, rinse, replace
into the misting arms, and turn your water source back
on. If proper misting does not resume, remove the offending
nozzles and repeat the procedure, soaking them for 10
full minutes. |
